Abstract

In every moment, people take photos and post in social media. Every people communicate via internet, especially social media. We also use social media for sharing moment or communicating with each other. Some famous social medias are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Path, and many others. Instagram is the one of most popular in social media for taking a photo and this is a favourite social media among teenagers and adults. This analysis is specially focused on metaphor in their comment. This study aims at finding kinds of metaphor and types of metaphor. This is a qualitative research. The writer chooses five accounts and also ten comment from each of them as the targets of the study. The choosing of those accounts target is based on the most popular celebrities account on Instagram and also the most using metaphor on their comment. The comment from each accounts are followed by haters. The writer will choose a comment by haters. The result shows the most often used in social media instagram are live metaphor and dead metaphor. Namely directives and expressive. Meanwhile the type of metaphor that most often used in social media Instagram. it is concluded that most Instagram celebrities account target use that social media to express the haters want.
