Abstract

Ini Talkshow is a comedy talkshow. Ini Talkshow has two hosts named Sule as the main host and Andre as the consultant host. There are also other characters who support the talkshow for example: Yurike Prastika as Sule’s mother, Saswi as Sule’s uncle, Maya Septha as a maid etc. Basically The concepts of the talkshow are simple, relaxing and warming. The setting of the proggram is decorated as in a house which makes the guest stars feel comfortable. This research, applied descriptive qualitative method. Source of data is dialogue Ini Talkshow edition 28 october 2014 with Rini Wulandari, Tika Bravani and Agus Mulyadi as the guest stars. In analyzing the conversational maxims, this resarch used the theory of the cooperative principle and flouting of maxims by Paul Grice (1975). In this theory, the cooperative principles are divided into four parts: maxim of quality, maxim of quantity, maxim of relation and maxim of manner. in the theory flouting of maxims also divided into four parts namely: flouting maxim of quantity, flouting maxim of quality, flouting maxim of relation and flouting maxim of manner. This research is purposed to examine the kinds of cooperative principles obeyed by guest stars and the kinds of flouting of maxims violated by guest star from the answer of the questions that asked by the host. The overall findings show that there are four maxims obeyed by Rini, Tika dan Agus namely maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relation and maxim of manner from the answer that delivered. The effect of cooperative principles did by guest stars are the communication can run well, eficient and effective. On the other hand, this study finds that there are four flouting of maxims in the answers of Tika and Agus. Those are flouting maxim of quantity, flouting maxim of quality, flouting maxim of relation and flouting maxim of manner. There are three flouting of maxims in answer of Rini, those are flouting maxim of quantity, flouting maxim of relation and flouting maxim of manner. There is no flouting maxim of quality in Rini’s answer, it means that Rini always gives valid information. Last, sometimes flouting of maxims are created by guest stars or host to create humor and made the show more attractive.
