Abstract

Keyword: Connotative,Denotative ,Meanings,NF,The Search. This research is an analysis of the denotative and connotative meanings present in the lyrics of NF's album "The Search." The study aims to explore NF's songwriting by utilizing Geoffrey Leech' theory to gain deeper insights into the underlying denotative and connotative meanings conveyed through his music. Through qualitative analysis, the research examines various songs from the album, categorizing the denotative and connotative meanings in each song. The lyrics touch on themes such as fame, self-identity, mental health, and personal growth, allowing listeners to connect with NF's introspective approach. The findings reveal that 54 lyrics in the album contain both denotative and connotative meanings. NF's poetic language constructs a powerful narrative that goes beyond surface meanings, conveying themes of wisdom, empowerment, and recognition of life's challenges. The combination of denotative and connotative language provides a profound and evocative experience for the audience, allowing them to resonate with NF's artistic expression and life experiences.
