Abstract

Keywords : idiomatic expression, movie, monster hunter Tesis ini tentang Analisis ekspresi Idiomatik di Film Monster Hunter. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis ekspresi idiomatik dan makna ekspresi idiomatik dalam Monster Hunter Movie. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan penelitian Deskriptif Kualitatif. Penulis menggunakan Teori McCarthy dan O'dell. Penulis mengambil 19 ekspresi idiomatik di film Monster Hunter untuk mendapatkan datanya. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah Dokumentasi. Data tersebut diperoleh di Monster Hunter Movie. This thesis is about The Analysis of Idiomatic expression in Monster Hunter Movie. The objective of the study was to find out the types of idiomatic expressions and the meaning of idiomatic expressions in Monster Hunter Movie. This study was conducted by applying Descriptive Qualitative research. The writer use McCarthy and O’dell Theory. The writer took 19 idiomatic expressions in Monster Hunter movie to get the data. The instrument of collecting data was Documentation. The data were obtained on Monster Hunter Movie. The result showed that types of idiomatic expressions used in movie script Monster Hunter are 1 binomials, 1 euphemisms, 5 cliché, and 12 fixed statement. So, types of idiomatic expressions that the most dominant used in Monster Hunter Movie is fixed statement. This thesis is not only for writers and other researchers but also has benefits for the other researher. The benefit is to provide basic knowledge about idiomatic expressions which is directly used in Monster Hunter Movie. And also has benefits for teachers and students, namely making it easier to learn or explain about Idiomatic Expressions in movie.
