Abstract

Human is a social being who always relates directly to each other. So that is way human can not be devided with communication.Communication helps to spread knowledge and information among people. Without communication, there is no individual or even community that would be able to exist because communication makes people possible not only to express their feelings, but also to show their points of view. This study is aimed to find out the kinds of politeness strategies which used by Sarah Sechan’s male guest and female guest and what the diffrences the politeness strategies used by Sarah Sechan towards her female and male guest in Sarah Sechan Talk Show are. The writer used the theory of Politness Strategies proposed by Brown and Levinson (1987) to find out the politeness strategies used by Sarah Sechan in her talk show. In collecting data, the writer downloaded Sarah Sechan’s Videos through Youtube and transcribed it. The result of this study indicated that when the conversation. the result of this study indicates that when the conversation occurred Sarah sechan used all strategies of Politeness Strategies. The use emphasise casual atmosphere, and a lot of humor Sarah Sechan, Sarah does not really want to be make a large distance between her and her male guest so that her talk show is so humorous and joyous as it expected to be.
