Abstract

The study is conducted to identify the social value of selected Tagor Tampubolon’s songs write which are stated lyric pop song Batak Poda, Boru Panggoara and Tangiang Ni Dainang I by Tagor Tampubolon of North Sumatera and to analyze how the meaning of the social value is shaped in the lyric Poda, Boru Panggoaran and Tangiang Ni Dainang I written by Tagor Tampubolon. The study uses the theory of social values from Prof. Dr. Notonagoro to do anaysis.The study uses descriptive qualitative method. The data is kind lyric Poda, Boru Panggoaran and Tangiang Ni Dainang I written by Tagor Tampubolon. The study collects the data from transcription of video song’s Poda, Boru Panggoaran and Tangiang Ni Dainang on www.youtube.com.The data are categorized into the kind of social value . The analysis data uses rules as the patteren of analyzing kind social value based on Prof. Dr. Notonagoro theory of find social value. The analysis showed in lyric Poda, Boru Panggoaran and Tangiang Ni Dainang I describe Spiritual Value, Moral Spritual Religius. The study suggests that other researchers will do research about social value to the writer of song who have a touching lyrical style of lyrics by Tagor Tampubolon's with lyrics of his song about Advice, Acknowledgments or thankfulness.
