Abstract

Language plays an important role in human life, especially in a speech community environment, during the process of interaction between people happen to be found to be capable of being master more than one language known as bilingual and multilingual which triggers the occurrence of code-mixing, codemixing is the inclusion of fragments of language into other languages. Codemixing is not just happening in verbal conversation but it can also occur in a conversation on a variety of literary writing in the form of novels, for example this #KorbanPHP novel. The purpose of this study is to determine the type and form of code-mixing in the novel. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data were taken from each utterance in a dialogue with the main character another characters that is then analyzed based on the type and form of inner and outer code-mixing. From the analysis of the data obtained in that kind of code-mixing Betawi language and code-mixing outside the Korean language and English. While many common form of code-mixing in the form of words and word repetition in each utterance main character. The main character uses a lot of code-mixing in Betawi language when interacting with friends and family, because the main character and his family are the original Betawi. Inner and outside codes in the form of mixed Korean and English foreign language also encountered many possible because the main character follows the trend of globalization and the language situation that are popular among teenagers. In this study, researcher hopes the study of language diversity in the dialogue such as code-mixing can be an interesting phenomenon to be studied, especially in the linguistic and literary diversity.
