Abstract

This study is conducted to analyze jargon used by teachers in TK BINA PUTRA. This study also propose a problem what are the meaning, type, and the function of the jargon. They used special term in some daily activities of education. This analysis is specially focused on jargon in education especially for formal and informal meeting. Hopefully, this study will be useful for students of English Department, especially to help them understand about jargon used in educational system. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method, the writer record ten of random conversation of teachers based on their daily activities in TK BINA PUTRA. Then transcribe the recording of the data that related with theories. After the writer explaines the word formation process of jargon, be tabulates the data of jargon meaning, then she analyses the data through the related theories that is used by the writer. From the data that have been analyzed, the writer discovered 34 jargons. The writer found out almost 85 percent of the jargon use acronym process. There are 34 jargons that used among the teachers of TK Bina Putra in formal or informal meeting. There are 25 jargons that belong to acronym process, 6 jargons belong to borrowing process, and 3 jargons belong to compounding process. The writer suggest to other researches and the student of English Department who are interested in similar researches to discuss about jargon more deeply.
