Abstract

In this research, the researcher shed light on one aspect of human life called moral message that convey in Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan. The author describe the moral messages about human concern and compare with others in life. The purpose of this study is to find out moral messages in life as depicted in the SURAT KECIL UNTUK TUHAN. To support this researchthe researcher uses objective theory and intrinsic approach to analyze this research.The researcher also uses deskriptive qualitative methode. The instruments of this study are the writer as the researcher and some books about objective criticism and fiction. The source of the data is the novel itself. After getting the data, the writer is analyzed them by quoting parts of the novel which show the characters of keke, ayah keke, andi, pak iyus, keke’s friends(fadha,maya,shifa,ida,andhini), bibi, kak kiki, angel, dr. adi kusuma, dan prof. mukhlis. Then the researcher searched moral messages of thecharacters whichthat the author played in his role in Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan novel.The writer also found some other information from books and also from internet. Based on the findings, the researcher concluded that of the popularity novel Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan with reader response approach this. There are three elements that result from this research. The reader in this case is a reader in Indonesia was liked or have an interest or desire to literature in particular Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan as removed from the real story. The element of "real story" is able to make the reader curious about the novel. Second, the novel has a story that is close to reality and indirectly brought to the reader as the groove is in the novel. The story that is both emotion and invite grief and make most readers to tears (dramatic) into a story that readers favored in Indonesia. And third, the story written by a young writer who is quite famous on the internet so as to give space to readers who are mostly women and teenagers is to get information such as the existence of Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan, indirectly it also makes the popular novel in Indonesia.
