Abstract

This study is conducted to analyze kind of struggles and most dominant struggle in 1987 : when the day comes film. This study is aimed at explaining: (1) the kind of struggles that suffered by the characters in 1987 : when the day comes film. (2) the most dominant struggle that suffered by the characters in 1987 : when the day comes film. The researcher uses a qualitative approach. Therefore, this research uses content analysis as the research method. The source of data is the 1987 : when the day comes film taken from the internet on website : www.dunia21.com. The data are collected by: (1) Downloading 1987 : when the day comes film. (2) Watching and listening to each selected dialogues to make sure that the dialogues in film are correct. In this research, the researcher found types of struggles in this film; they were struggle for democracy, struggle for independence, struggle for existence and struggle for freedom. It is found that the most dominant struggle in 1987 : when the day comes film is struggle for freedom that reach 78.7% of the four types of struggle which is dominated by 9 characters such as Choi Hwan, Park Cheo-won, Yoon Sang-sam, Park Wol-gil, Yeon Hee, Kim Jeong-nam, Lee Bu-yong, Han Byung-yong and Lee Han-yeol. The film makes the world know that everything that happen on the earth is not only the good things but bad also and the truth of justice will remain forever. The researcher concluded that the kind of struggles that appeared in 1987 : when the day comes film are the reflections of Korean people during the insanity of authoritarian regime government in 1987 and they fight for it till they reach their freedom.
